“Modern access, traditional care —
without the 8am rush”

Alvanley Family Practice

Your Referral

After your GP refers you, your care is managed by the hospital or service you have been referred to.

What happens next

The hospital or service will contact you directly about your appointment.

Waiting times can vary depending on the service.

If you feel you need to be seen quicker, you can download an expedite letter to send to the hospital here. You can either fill this in on your computer or print it out, then send to the hospital.

If you have not heard from the hospital

Please contact the hospital or service directly to check your referral.

If your condition gets worse

If your condition changes or gets worse while you are waiting, contact the practice.

Problems or delays with your Referral

If you have concerns about your referral or how it is being managed, you can contact the hospital’s Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS).

PALS can provide information and help resolve concerns about hospital care.

ADHD Referrals

There is very high demand for ADHD assessment services across the NHS, and waiting times can be long. These services are managed outside the practice, so we are not able to control waiting times.

Referral pathways for ADHD are set by local services and may vary.

If you would like to discuss a possible ADHD referral, please contact the practice to speak to a clinician.
